29" (74 cm.) Carved wooden lady doll with sculpted brown hair loosely waved away from her face and captured in chignon at the back of head, deeply combmarked definition of hair, brown glass enamel eyes, closed mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: head and torso structurally excellent although repainted, four fingers broken on left hand, three fingers broken on right hand, legs re-attached at dowels. Comments: Continental, early 1800s. Value Points: fine carving of hair and face, wearing very fine early silk costume with faux jewel accents.
