Description
14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque swivel head with sculpted flat-top undecorated bonnet, kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, plump face, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, black eyeliner, painted lashes, arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1860. Value Points: the beautiful doll has a rare sculpted flat-top bonnet with encircling black velvet brim and attached blonde mohair wig; the doll is designed that the bisque bonnet actually appears as a separate bonnet. Few examples are known to exist of the model.
