20" (51 cm.) h. 19"w. Of solid mahogany with fine burled veneer drawer fronts framed by richly grained walnut and pencil-striped light wood, the furniture features a four door upper section with lattice-paned windows, and with the two outer sections set back. The base has a set-front chest with faux top drawer which actually hinges open to reveal desk with built-in niches and gilt-scrolled red leather writing surface; with two lower drawers centering outer cabinets and drawers. Excellent condition. The exactitude of construction and the superior quality of woods indicates that the miniature scaled furniture was made as a maitrise model, probably late 1800s in the earlier Hepplewhite style.
