13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, sculpted short brown hair waved from face, neatly trimmed brown beard, deeply-incised enamel eyes, firmly-set lips, tow-wrapped armature posable body, carved wooden lower arms and bare legs, painted sandals with knee-high lacing accented with gold tassels, wearing original costume comprising coral silk tunic with velvet collar, burgundy shirt with gilt metallic embroidery, gold harem pants. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, an exceptional example of modeling with wonderfully-preserved elaborate costume.
