17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, short feathered upper brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with very full outlined lips, blushed cheeks, impressed dimples at chin and philtrum, brunette hand-tied human hair wig in long curls, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, original body. Marks: 2033 BSW (in heart) 537 6. Comments: Bruno Schmidt, circa 1912, the model appeared on the cover of the early doll book, Wendy and Friends, by Madelaine Selfridge, after which it became known by collectors as "Wendy". Value Points: especially fine example of the rare model with beautiful sculpted nose and lips, choice bisque and painting, beautiful antique costume.
