Description
36" (91 cm.) The pure linen towel with shadow woven image of George Washington in the center is edged by two red woven borders lettered "1893 World’s Fair" indicating America’s first International Exposition, at which the first American doll to ever win the Gold Medal (Medaille d’Or) at such an international fair was presented. That was the Columbian doll which is the preceding lot. The towel is in mint condition and very rare. American, 1893.
