20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with rich outlined lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, small flake at left pierced ear hole. Marks: L'Intrepide R.D. Bte SGDG 8 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1890, the bebe was commissioned by Roullet et Decamps for use with mechanical walking body, but also appeared with this classic body style. Value Points: rarely found mark with lovely bisque, antique costume includes green velvet cape with original Paris label, flowered bonnet, dress, undergarments, socks, shoes.
