16" (41 cm.) Lithographed cut-stuff-and-stitch doll with printed facial features,hair and undergarments,has over-painted lips and hair to enhance the color,and is wearing antique red woolen coat with velvet trim,badge of the Patrons of Husbandry,velvet embroidered slippers and cap. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American,from a series of dolls from Art Fabric Mills,circa 1900,with enhanced painting and costuming known as "make-do". Value Points: very endearing uniquely-presented doll.
