23" (58 cm.) Cloth doll with bedpost-shaped stitched-on shoulder head having slightly rounded face,elongated throat,oil-painted complexion,ink-drawn long painted black hair,painted complexion,simply outlined eyes with painted lashes,blue side-glancing eyes,outlined nose,tiny mouth,muslin stitch-jointed body,short arms with stitch jointed shoulders,stitch jointing at hips and knees. Condition: very good,original finish with some rubs. Comments: American,circa 1885. Value Points: charming doll with tentative simple ink-drawn features,and wearing fine antique costume.
