12" (30 cm.) All-dark brown muslin cotton cloth with facial shape and head construction in the Columbian Doll style,painted black curls,painted facial features with defined eye sockets,brows,nose shape,shaded lips,row of teeth,and having stitch-attached firmly- stuffed body,original costume of cotton dress,apron,undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American,late 19th century,the doll construction appears commercial although the painting is handmade. Value Points: rare small cloth doll with intriguing and mystery origin.
