Of rag-stuffed black cotton cloth,the doll has oval- shaped head,stitched-on wool fleece cap wig,cut-out eye sockets with twill cord edging,cord stitched-on brows,inset double button eyes achieving dimension of pupils and eye whites,embroidered lips and teeth,stitch-jointed arms and legs,antique dress,undergarments,sunbonnet,stockings,shoes,photograph pin. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American,unknown folk artist,late 19th century. Value Points: creative use of found materials in the design of the folk doll,along with a lithographed mask,brown-complexioned doll with original body and costume by Bruckner.
