All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted features,oil-painted shaded brown hair in soft short curls onto the forehead,stitched-on ears,large painted brown eyes with thickly painted black lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded lips,stitch-jointed body with oil-painted arms and legs,painted thigh-high blue stockings with black detailing,antique cotton dress and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mrs. S.S. Smith,Manufacturer Roanoke,Ala. No 2. Patented September 26,1905 (body stamp). Comments: Ella Smith's Alabama Baby,circa 1910. Value Points: wonderful facial painting with original finish that includes rich eye decoration and fine rosy cheeks.
