24" (61 cm.) Having flat-dimensional face with elongated shape,the all-black cloth doll has varnished finish on the face over oil- painted features,outlined brown eyes,designed brows and mouth,simplistic shaping of rag-stuffed body,defined fingers and thumbs,wearing ragged cotton dress,stitched-on cap,stockings,shoes,apron. Condition: very good. Comments: American,late 19th century. Value Points: a charming quality to the naively constructed and painted doll,with her own knit doll having embroidered features and knit-on costume.
