Description
25" (64 cm.) All-cloth doll of heavy twill with elaborate
construction of head,firmly stuffed head with five darts on face
and back giving shape to the head,flat-dimensional face,dark brown
painted hair,painted darkened complexion,outlined dark eyes,brush
stroked brows,painted mouth with very full shaded lips,body
constructed with sewn panel for sitting,elaborately stitched
feet,stitch jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,stitch-
defined hands and separate thumbs. Condition: generally
excellent,paint a bit darkened with smudge on cheeks. Comments:
American,circa 1890. Value Points: artistically painted face and
hair,elaborate construction,antique costume.
