Description
26" (66 cm.) Firmly-stuffed cloth head with stiffened oil-painted
hair in short brown curls and facial features including outlined
brown eyes,thick feathered brows,small smiling lips,the head being
stitch attached to muslin body with one-piece torso and upper
legs,jointed lower legs,jointed one-piece arms with oil-painted
lower arms and stitch-defined fingers,nice antique costume.
Condition: very good,facial finish scrubbed. Comments:
American,late 1890s,the body may be styled from the 1893 Butterick
doll pattern. Value Points: endearing naive painting of face with
clustered features having a sweet charm,well-made patterned body.
