14" (36 cm.) The all-cloth doll has four-seamed head including center-seam on face,unusual oval shape which appears nearly square when viewed from the side,stitch-shaped nose,oil-painted stiffened hair and face,with painted complexion,blue outlined eyes with white eye dots,brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils,blushed cheeks,small mouth with center accent line,and unusual stitched-on ears,slender torso and legs that are one-piece with the head,jointed arms with separate thumbs. Condition: very good,typical play wear and rubs on the finish. Comments: American folk artist,unknown,circa 1880. Value Points: wonderful presence,the ears charmingly off-kilter to each other,the complexion and features skillfully rendered,and wearing original gentleman's costume.
