Description
12" (30 cm.) and 24". Each is of homespun cotton with side-seamed
heads of various shapes,the larger with black stockinette back of
head suggesting hair,stitched-on black velvet eyes with loose
threading suggesting lashes,stitched-on large cotton nose,the
larger with cotton mouth and the two smaller with embroidered
lips,blushed cheeks,stitch jointing at shoulders and hips,very
large exaggerated size of fingers,original simple costumes.
Condition: generally excellent,some spotting and play wear.
Comments: American,circa 1915,in the Raggedy Ann genre. Value
Points: absolutely delightful folk art dolls with creative use of
found materials.
