Description
22" (56 cm.) overall cart and horse. 10"h. horse. 15" doll. A
carved wooden horse with dappled original finish,original leather
harness,is posed on a wooden base with spoked wheels,and is
pulling a wooden cart with painted decorations,with two cast iron
spoked wheels. The underside of the horse is inscribed "Made by
the S.A. Smith Mfg Co,Brattleboro,Vt". Circa 1900,the S.A. Smith
firm specialized in wooden toys at that time. Included with the
signed American toy is a knit stockinette black doll with
embroidered features.
