20" (51 cm.) Twill-ribbed cloth doll with center facial seams giving shape to the forehead,nose and chin,stitched ears,oil-painted blonde hair with light brown shaded details,painted complexion with blushed cheeks and chin,blue eyes with double rows of upper eyeliner,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth,stitch jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,antique schoolboy costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American,circa 1890. Value Points: outstanding doll with artistically painted hair and features,fine detail of ear shape,the little boy is carrying his own well-worn and loved early teddy bear by Steiff (with original button with underscored F) with shoe button eyes and brown embroidered nose.
