24" (61 cm.) dolls,10"l. elephant. A pair of matching lithographed cloth dolls having dark curly hair and well-defined facial features,printed undergarments,stockings and shoes,each labeled "Copyrighted November 1899 by The American Rice Food and Manufacturing Co,Matawan N.J." and "My Name is Miss Flaked Rice". Along with stuffed lithographed cloth circus elephant with blanket printed "Baby". Condition: generally excellent,some spotting on dolls. Comments: the promotional dolls were commissioned by Cook's Flaked Rice from Art Fabric Mills in 1900,available uncut for 10 cents with a coupon from the rice package. Value Points: the hard- to-find lithograph models wear matching family-made toddler costumes of the era.
