24" (61 cm.) All-cloth doll with stitched-on head,having gracefully shaped head and throat,formed by centered neck and crown seams,allowing rounded face front,having oil-painted brown curly hair with wispy curls,subtle shading of complexion,outlined large brown eyes with grey eyeshadow,brush stroked brows,closed mouth with smiling expression,four porcelain teeth,stitch jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,oil-painted complexion,antique costume. Condition: generally excellent,some wear to lower legs. Comments: American,circa 1880. Value Points: the especially fine and artistic rendering of portrait-like features are suggestive of the work of itinerant American folk portrait artists of the same era.
