23" (58 cm.) Each is of black cotton sateen with one-piece head
and torso,having stitch-shaped definition of nose and chin,button
eyes with white buttons below protruding black button
"pupils",embroidered brows,nostrils and lip line,sewn-on button
earrings,stitched-on black fleecy wool hair,stitch jointing of
floppy arms and legs at shoulders and hips,stitch-defined fingers.
Condition: generally excellent,shoes worn on one. Comments:
American,circa 1930. Value Points: delightful presence of the
whimsical details,their original matching costumes and button eyes
with variation of materials,enhancing their folk art origins.
