Description
56" (142 cm.) All-wooden ventriloquist doll has movable head,inset
metal eyes,painted complexion and features,hinged jaw,painted
teeth,wide smiling expression,rounded nose,attached grey hair,on
wooden block-shaped body with metal-bolt articulation,large carved
hands and feet with heavy shoes. The doll was designed to sit
casually on the ventriloquist lap,to be manipulated from simple
pull-strings at the back torso. Condition: structurally
excellent,finish well worn and repainted on face. Marks: Martha
Prudence Faire...Calif (partially visible thick ink lettering on
leg). Comments: American,mid-1900s. Value Points: highly-
characterized and amusing folk art doll.
