Description
9" (23 cm.) and 13". Each topsy-turvy has alternate doll heads
posed on opposite ends of a muslin torso, and is designed so that
the full-length costume which accompanies each head will hide the
alternate head. When the doll is flipped, the alternate "doll" is
revealed. One topsy-turvy has sateen heads with daintily
embroidered facial features,including black-complexioned child
wearing red cotton dress, and white-complexioned child in striped
red and white dress with lace trim and matching cap; the other
topsy-turvy is a petite size with painted features. Condition:
generally excellent, light spotting on white-complexion face.
Comments: American, circa 1900. Value Points: original costumes
enhance the studio topsy-turvy dolls.
