Description
16" (41 cm.) Stockinette doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted
facial features,blonde impasto-painted hair with forehead
curls,painted blue eyes with double white eye dots,very thick
painted red and black eyeliner,blonde brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth,cloth body with oil-painted lower arms and
legs,sateen torso cover,stitch-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips
and knees,stitch-defined fingers and separate thumb. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: American,Martha Chase,circa 1910.
Value Points: original finish with especially fine painting of
eyes,dimpled chin,stitched ears,and wearing good antique knit
costume and accessories.
