25" (64 cm.) All-cloth muslin doll with flat-dimensional moon-
shaped face,pouf-back of head,stitched neck belt giving upright
shape to the head,oil-painted hair,complexion and facial
features,short brown painted hair with stippled detail,blushed
complexion,dark blue outlined blue eyes,brown shaded brows,red
outlined nose,closed mouth with primly-shaped lips,stitch jointing
at shoulders,hips and knees,oil-painted complexion on upper torso
and lower arms and hands,stitch-defined fingers with separate
thumbs,antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
American,late 19th century,the doll bears old museum inventory
number. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved cloth doll,likely of
unknown cottage industry,has artistic painting of
complexion,features and hair.
