9" (23 cm.) smaller. Each is all-carved wooden,including man with
sculpted black hair and moustache,deeply-inset carved eyes,dowel
jointing at shoulders,elbows and hips,with larger oversized hands
and painted black shoes (one dowel replaced); and 13" Appalachian
chip-carved doll with deeply-defined features,strong nose and
chin,all-wooden dowel-jointed body,lower arms and legs
stained,painted shoes. Generally excellent. American,mid 1900s.
