27" (69 cm.) All-wooden carved figure of woman with one-piece
head,torso and legs,her head tilted very slightly to the side,and
with arms having dowel jointing at the elbows,heavily modeled
eyelids,brown enamel inset eyes,elegantly shaped nose,closed lips
with solemn expression,painted brows,all-around
lashes,eyeliner,nostrils,and lips,and with blushed detail on chin
and cheeks,pierced ears,brunette human hair,carved blue
gown,carved lower legs with defined toes and fingers. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Continental,18th century. Value
Points: the elegantly posed head,downcast eyes,and fine artistic
painting of complexion create a sublime portrait,with original
silk gown with rich gilt metallic embroidery. Ex-collection
