28" (71 cm.) All-wooden doll with carved head and torso,perfectly egg-shaped head,elongated throat,inset brown enamel eyes in deeply set sockets,painted brows and eyeliner,elegantly shaped nose,closed mouth with very full lips,well-sculpted lips,hemp hair in long ringlet curls,shapely torso,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,separately sculpted fingers. Condition: structurally excellent,original painted finish is worn. Comments: Continental,18th century. Value Points: splendid portraiture with refined features,fully articulated body,and wearing fine original silk costume with silver metallic embroidery,and with matching slippers,undergarments.
