Description
16" (41 cm.) All-wooden doll with ovoid-shaped face and daintily
shaped chin,elongated throat,sculpted wooden yellow tuck
comb,defined ears,and nose,painted black hair with shading and
elaborately curled details around the forehead,painted brown
eyes,tiny mouth,blushed cheeks,shapely torso,dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,painted red shoes,and wearing fine
antique costume. Condition: original finish with extensive
craquelure. Comments: Grodnertal,circa 1840. Value Points:
exuberant painting of curls frame the face on the large Grodnertal
model.
