Description
10" (25 cm.) h. Bisque swivel head with very full cheeks and
chin,on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and
shoulder blades,blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral
threading,very thick dark eyeliner,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-
stroked brows with feathered detail,shaded nostrils,closed mouth
with outlined heart-shaped upper lip,four painted teeth between
the lips,pierced ears,blonde lambswool wig over cork pate.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bte SGDG (incised on crown
rim) Depose (front shoulder plate) (impressed circle/dot symbol at
the back of head). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1880,the model
was deposed by him,as indicated by the rare incised markings on
forehead and shoulderplate. Value Points: very early example of
the stunningly beautiful doll with splendid eyes,finest bisque and
modeling,rare painted teeth.
