Description
22" (56 cm.) Earthenware shoulder head of aged man with bald
pate,impressed forehead wrinkles,sculpted very full flowing hair
and beard,enamel eyes,sculpted thick brows,gaunt cheeks,hemp-
wrapped body,sculpted hands with expressive fingers,painted red
boots. Condition: very good,light retouch on side of face,hands
and boots repainted. Comments: Neopolitan,early 1800s. Value
Points: superb sculpting of face,hair and beard,fine original
costume with metallic fringe and beading. Ex-collection Margaret
Woodbury Strong,being sold to benefit the Strong's collection
funds.
