24" (61 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso with head
tilted upward,deeply sculpted ears,bald pate with painted brown
hair,inset enamel eyes in half-moon shape,brown painted
hair,fringed brows,closed mouth with downcast lips,blushed cheeks
and eye shadow,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and
knees,swivel-jointing at wrists,well-defined toes and fingers.
Condition: paint wear on forehead,and lower limbs. Comments:
Continental,probably Germany,18th century. Value Points: most
captivating expression and fine artistic original painting,well-
sculpted articulated body. Ex-collection Margaret Woodbury
