Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered platform is a young
girl with bisque head,flat-cut neck socket,blue glass paperweight
inset eyes,dark painted curly lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the lips,pierced
ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French carton torso and
legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4 (and artist
checkmarks) L.B. (key). Comments: Leopold Lambert,circa 1890.
Value Points: beautiful bebe with fine creamy bisque is holding a
woven basket in which is nestled a little bird; when wound,the
girl turns her head side-to-side,nods,and lifts the lid of the
basket as the bird awakens,while music plays.
