8 1/2" (22 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso,brown glass inset eyes,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,slightly parted lips,two square-cut upper teeth,pierced ears,brunette human hair wig,peg-jointed bisque arms with modeled bent elbows and curled fingers,peg-jointed muscular legs with painted high yellow heeled boots with lacing,antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Kestner,circa 1885,the doll is known as "French wrestler" in reference to its muscular shape. Value Points: rare and sought-after doll with beautiful painting and expression.
