24" (61 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder
plate,brown glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark
eyeliner,painted lashes,rose-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and
feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth
with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips,defined
teeth,pierced ears,brunette human hair wig over cork pate,gusset-
jointed plump kid bebe body,bisque lower arms and hands,lovely
silk and woolen costume,bonnet,undergarments,leather shoes.
Condition: generally excellent,body very firm and sturdy albeit
some darkening of kid. Marks: Bru Jne 8 (head,with incised
circle/dot symbol) Bru Jne No.8 (shoulders). Comments: Leon
Casimir Bru,an early model bebe from the venerable firm,circa
1882. Value Points: rare exhibition size for the model and of
finest quality bisque and painting,highly defined sculpting
especially around the eyes mouth and chin,sturdy original
body,exquisitely sculpted perfect hands.
