Description
26" (66 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head with sculpted black hair in
short curls with scalloped curls around the forehead,black enamel
glass eyes,closed mouth,firmly stuffed muslin body with
composition arms to above the elbows,composition lower legs.
Condition: good,original finish albeit horizontal craze lines on
shoulder plate,rubs on hair. Comments: Germany,circa 1850. Value
Points: wonderful rare doll with highly characterized face,deeply
sculpted hair,original body,and wearing original homespun costume
with matching bloomers with cording and embroidery,silk and
leather shoes.
