Description
11" (28 cm.) Identically sculpted bisque shoulder heads have
deeply sculpted hair with casually wrapped topknot curl,and
voluminous pouf curls framing the head,brown or blue glass inset
eyes,painted lashes,sculpted and painted brows with enhancing
glaze,accented nostrils,closed mouth with modeled teeth,sculpted
ears. Condition: generally excellent,one tiny chip at bottom rim
of light haired head,two cheek rubs on darker haired herad. Marks:
(illegible stamps on back of each). Comments: Germany,attributed
to Simon and Halbig,circa 1910,the heads were likely exhibition or
mannequin heads. Value Points: especially fine quality of
sculpting of hair in highly stylized topknot fashion of the early
1900s.
