29" (74 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder
plate,blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,dark
eyeliner,delicately-painted lashes and brows,rose-blushed
eyeliner,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with
outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette human hair wig over cork
pate,French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows,hips
and knees,separately-stitched fingers. Condition: bisque
excellent,body is original albeit with extensive repairs to the
kid. Marks: 11. Comments: Barrois,circa 1865. Value Points:
dramatic size beautifully contrasts the delicate features and
complexion,lovely blush and complexion painting,wearing fine early
costume.
