Description
5" (13 cm.) h. Of carved bone with raised foliage design on the
base,the upright balancing bar has two carved bone figures with
articulation at shoulders,hips and knees,and defined carving of
facial features,hair and costume. When pivoting balance bar is
tapped,the figures balance in a variety of precarious poses,made
possible by limb articulation. Excellent condition. Chinese,mid-19th
century,an especially fine example of the intricate miniature toy.
