Description
19" (51 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed,stiffened and oil-painted
facial features,the head stitched to the original twill body with
stitch-jointing,oil-painted lower limbs and black painted ankle
boots,with painted center-parted hair arranged with two shaded
ringlet curls in front of each stitched ear,outlined brown painted
eyes in well-defined sockets,closed mouth with center accent line.
Condition: good,original finish with typical craquelure,rub to
nose and left cheek. Comments: Izannah Walker,of Pawtucket,Rhode
Island,circa 1880. Value Points: rare early American oil-painted
doll with beautifully-painted ringlet curls,original costume.
