Description
20" (51 cm.) overall height. 16" doll. Arranged upon a wooden
platform with green velvet cover edged with ball fringe,is a
dressing table with silk and lace skirt and ruffles,oval mirror
and various toiletry notions. A bisque-head doll with blue glass
eyes,mohair lashes,painted lashes and brows,open mouth,four
porcelain teeth,blonde mohair wig,pierced ears,carton torso and
legs,wire upper arms and bisque forearms,wearing original rose
satin dress with bead trim,undergarments,matching slippers,is
standing at the table,a powder puff in one hand and a hand mirror
in the other. When wound,she turns her head to the right,blinks
her eyes open and closed,and lifts her arm to powder her
nose,repeats several times,then turns to the left,blinks eyes
again,nods forward and lifts her left arm to gaze into the mirror.
All the while,music plays. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
1300-6 Dep Wimpern (doll) . L.B. (key). Comments: Leopold
Lambert,circa 1895. Value Points: charming vignette with dainty
and realistic movements,functions well,beautiful music and motion.
