Description
28" (71 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head,torso and legs,the head
with solid dome having painted baby hair,sculpted well-defined
ears,small brown upper-glancing enamel eyes,heavy eyelids with red
and black upper eyeliner,fringed upper brows,strong nose with
shaded nostrils,closed mouth with firm lips,blushed chin tip and
ears,dowel-jointing at shoulders,pivot-jointing of elbows.
Condition: very good except missing fingers on both hands and toes
on right foot,chipped toes on left foot. Comments:
Continental,18th century. Value Points: outstanding facial pose
and expression with fine artistic painting of complexion and
features,superb original green velvet tunic with matching hood and
pouch,metallic threads and painted gold buttons. Ex-Collection
