Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with slender oval facial shape and
elongated throat,painted facial features,shaded blue eyes with
darker rims and prominent black pupils,thick black upper
eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered brows,strongly-defined nose with
rounded tip,closed mouth with smiling expression,coral-
shadedlips,well-defined sculpting of blushed ears,antique brunette
hand-tied human hair wig,wooden fully-articulated slender lady
body with jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips,and knees and original
metal hands with jointed wrists. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: Huret 60 rue de Boetie (incised on back torso). Comments:
Maison Huret,from the Elisa Prevost epoch,circa 1909,although
undocumented the antique costume appears to be from the series of
costumes designed for the Prevost-Huret by Jeanne Lanvin. Value
Points: exceptional beauty of the art-poupee with artistic
painting of features,original wooden articulated signed body,and
wearing her original magenta silk theatrical style fashion costume
of the 1915 era with rich bead encrustation on the tunic and
matching feathered cap and sash.
