Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brilliant cobalt blue eyes, dark eyeliner, rose blushed eye shadow, delicately-painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with shapely torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, and swivel waist and upper legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1865, the body was deposed by Albert and Marie Angueulle in 1865, proposing detailed articulation of a carved wooden body by both pivot and dowel jointing, and was presented in luxury Parisian stores such as Maison Giroux. Value Points: rare poupee whose beautiful face with nodding articulation complements the intricately-jointed body with original finish.
