Bebe Jumeau (raised lettering on metal horn of crier). Comments:
Emile Jumeau, circa 1888. Value Points: very rare and original
variation of the Bebe Parlant. Ordinarily the torso was cut
horizontally at the waist for insertion of the crier and then
closed permanently (see The Jumeau Book, page 266); this example
has an open window with removable front cover in the manner of
Bebe Phonographe (except having solid composition cover rather
than pierced-metal cover) and bellows mechanism which conjoins
with the hinged walking mechanism (see photo detail) that is also
rare on this style of body.
