Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid domed paper-mache shoulder head,black enamel
inset eyes,painted features,closed mouth,black painted pate with
stippled detail,firmly-stuffed torso and legs,posed standing on
three-wheeled tin base with hidden mechanism,firmly-stuffed
kidskin arms with fingers posed for holding an object. When
wound,the doll vigorously "walks" forward and in circles,turning
her head from side to side. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: attributed to Theroude,circa 1850. Value Points: the
doll wears her original costume including wonderful bonnet,and
functions perfectly.
