12" (30 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, dark amber-tinted complexion with sculpted tuft of hair at crown of bald pate, fully-sculpted ears, enamel inset eyes, strong nose, open mouth, painted teeth, tongue, hemp-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted green stockings and yellow slippers, wearing silk costume comprising faillette-accented silk tunic, twill shirt, yellow harem pants. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, especially well-defined lean-faced features.
