13" (33 cm.) Sculpted shoulder head depicting woman with head
turned sideways,having deeply-defined comb-marked brown hair with
topknot and tendrils at the nape,blue painted hair bands,painted
facial features,enamel eyes,mouth painted as though open with tiny
teeth,hemp-wrapped body with carved wooden hands and lower
legs,expressive fingers,painted blue stockings with yellow shoes
and red bows. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Neopolitan,early 19th century. Value Points: superb sculpting,fine
original finish,original well-preserved costume.
