15" (38 cm.) head circ. 22" l. Solid domed bisque head with
flanged neck,brown sculpted short baby hair,tinted brows,blue
glass sleep eyes,painted lashes,rounded upturned nose,open smiling
mouth with shaded lips,tongue,two porcelain lower teeth,impressed
dimples and laughter lines,muslin torso and upper
limbs,composition lower arms and legs,nicely costumed. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Copr. by Georgene Averill 1003/3654.15
Germany. Comments: Bonnie Babe,designed by the American artist
Georgene Averill under commission by George Borgfeldt importers of
New York,made in Germany,circa 1923. Value Points: especially fine
quality of sculpting with deeply defined features,enhanced by
lustrous dewy patina of complexion,original body.
